At DK Fotinakis, we had the privilege of undertaking works on the historic OTE cable ship Thalis o Milissios, which is now preserved as a floating museum.
Built in 1909, it is not only the oldest vessel in the Greek shipping registry but also a landmark in the history of telecommunications and maritime heritage.
Contributing to the maintenance of such an iconic ship is an honour for our team. With respect for its legacy and the same commitment to quality that guides all our projects, we ensured that Thalis o Milissios continues to stand strong as a unique link between Greece’s maritime past and present.
This repair was made possible with the support of the Dracopoulos family, founders of the Aegean Maritime Museum, whose contribution plays a vital role in safeguarding the vessel’s unique legacy for future generations.
