In September 2026, DK Fotinakis and Skaramangas Shipyards completed a demanding repair project on a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) with a deadweight capacity of 306,000 tonnes and a length of 333 metres – longer than three football pitches laid end to end.
The scope included extensive work totalling 80 tonnes of prefabricated steel, completed in just 14 calendar days. This achievement reflects our technical expertise, precise coordination, and the commitment of everyone involved.
For DK Fotinakis, the project builds on a growing track record of complex repairs on large commercial vessels and tankers at Skaramangas Shipyards.
We extend our sincere thanks to the ship management company for its trust and to our partner, Skaramangas Shipyards, for its invaluable contribution to the successful delivery of this demanding project.
